🗓️ July 6, 2026
The transition to renewable energy is not just a concept in our lecture halls—it is happening live under the sun! Trainees from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College stepped out of the classroom today and onto the field for intensive, hands-on Solar PV installation practicals under our Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) model.
From sizing photovoltaic arrays and calculating load demands to mounting panels, terminating heavy-duty DC wiring, and synchronizing hybrid inverters with storage systems, these future technicians are mastering every link in the solar value chain.
At MTTVC, we don’t just teach theory; we build real technical capacity. By working directly with commercial-grade solar equipment, our trainees develop the confidence, safety habits, and diagnostic skills required to lead Kenya’s clean energy transition. They are not just studying the grid—they are mastering it, one panel at a time.
