📅 17 March 2025
In a spirited commitment to environmental conservation, Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College (MTTVC) staff and administration came together for a tree planting and gapping exercise to mark the onset of the March/April long rains. A total of 50 Grevillia robusta trees were planted across the campus, reinforcing the institution’s dedication to sustainability.
Greening TVET: A Core Pillar of MTTVC’s Vision
This initiative aligns with the five pillars of TVET greening, a national framework promoting eco-friendly practices in technical institutions. By integrating tree planting and nurturing into its operations, MTTVC is not only enhancing the campus environment but also fostering a culture of environmental responsibility among students and staff.

🌱 Why Grevillia robusta?
- Fast-growing and drought-resistant, ideal for Kenya’s climate.
- Provides shade, windbreaks, and soil conservation.
- Supports biodiversity by attracting pollinators.
