Machakos County — Change is happening live on our rooftops! Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College has officially plugged into the national TVET Solarization Initiative, a massive green energy transition spearheaded by the Ministry of Education through the State Department for TVET.
This project is a double victory for our campus: it slash-burns our carbon footprint while turning our utility infrastructure into a high-tech training playground for green energy technicians. 🌍💡

🔧 The Workshop is on the Roof: Live CBET Integration
We don’t watch contractors work; we work with them. In line with our strict Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) model, this installation doubles as a live learning project.
Our Electrical and Electronics Engineering trainees are actively deployed on-site alongside expert solar engineers. Instead of studying schematics in a book, our students are getting their hands dirty with:
- 🛠️ Structural mounting and optimal rooftop angle calculations.
- 🔌 Heavy-duty DC-to-AC inverter wiring and load-balancing setup.
- 🎛️ Solar charge controller programming and hybrid system integration.
