🏢 Executive Leadership: BoG and Management Conclude Intensive Governance Induction in Naivasha

🗓️ June 19, 2026

NAIVASHA — To sharpen administrative capacity and align institutional growth with international technical standards, Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College has successfully completed an intensive three-day Board of Governors (BoG) and Management Induction Programme.

The high-level retreat, which took place from 17th to 19th June 2026 at the Morendat Training and Conference Centre in Naivasha, served as a foundational planning platform to anchor the college’s fiscal policies, administrative structures, and infrastructural blueprints for the upcoming academic cycle.

📝 Core Pillars of the Governance Training

The executive sessions brought together top educational administrators and state specialists to audit and optimize four critical areas of institutional management:

  • Corporate Governance & Leadership: Developing agile, transparent administrative systems to guide institutional planning.
  • Financial Management & TVET Accounting: Streamlining ledger accounts, budgeting systems, and tuition capitation loops in full compliance with public finance acts.
  • Supply Chain Management: Safeguarding public resources through strict, value-for-money procurement and asset auditing frameworks.
  • Human Resource Development: Crafting performance-driven mentorship structures to support our specialized technical trainers.

💬 Ministerial Directives: The Drive Toward Self-Sustaining Centers

The closing ceremony was presided over by the Principal Secretary for the State Department of TVET, Dr. Esther Muoria, PhD. In her executive address, the PS reaffirmed that TVET institutions are the ultimate engines driving Kenya’s industrialization agenda under the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) paradigm.

The PS’s Challenge: Dr. Esther Muoria challenged the MTTVC leadership team to heavily adopt climate-smart, green energy frameworks—specifically expanding on campus automation, solarization, and industrial rainwater harvesting—while building tight private-sector industrial linkages to position Machakos Town TVC as a completely self-sustaining center of national excellence.

The MTTVC fraternity extends its sincere gratitude to the State Department for TVET for organizing this transformative programme, recognizing Maryan Hassan (Director of Governance, SDTVET), Peter Kamau (Regional TVET County Director), Abraham Kibaru (Office of Governance, SDTVET), and secretariat Imelda Lumadede for a flawlessly executed training matrix.
